I work for a finance company that used to do business with tenant loans, and yes, they are a scam company. They take your details and basically pass it on to loads of credit companies in hopes that someone accepts you. You can basically ring these companies yourself, such as Welcome Finance or Blackhorse.

Why something hasn’t been done about tenant loans yet, I have no idea. Google search ‘tenant loans complaints’ and I’m sure it will come up with many discussions on this, and perhaps someone has been successful in reclaiming money from them.

I’ve never had the chance to read through their paperwork, but would love to one day.

Contact consumer direct. Perhaps they should have told you that you needed a guarantor prior you sending out the £50.

That really really sounds like a scam. I know people who have gotten management positions and don't have to pay to apply, that's just crazy. He kept saying the same thing over and over, while giving no helpful information. I would forget about it. Sounds just like some scam websites I've read trying to sell you something.

I know its to late now but you never pay a fee upfront for a non secured loan.

Re read the ad including the small print, If it fails to disclose the guarantor information complain to trading standards and also the FSA

If you contact your local C.A.B they will have all the contact information you need, Also if you do not feel confident about it they can help with writing neccessary letters phone calls ect
